Classic Nordic skiing is practised in two parallel tracks, using a gliding motion similar to walking.
Classic skiing involves gliding in tracks with parallel skis and a movement similar to walking, whilst skating is practised on a wide piste without tracks, with skis in a V-shape and a more dynamic and physical skating motion.

- Terrain: Ideal on groomed tracks with marked rails
